MAPLETON – When the next Township of Mapleton council convenes following the Oct. 22 municipal election one longtime council member won’t be at the table.

Cattle, horses lost in Mapleton barn fire

MAPLETON – Four horses and 49 cattle were lost in a fire that destroyed a barn here on Aug. 15. Fire Chief Rick Richardson said Mapleton Fire Rescue was called to the blaze on the 4th Line near Wellington Road 12 at around 2:45pm.

Palmerston man dead after two-vehicle crash in North Perth

NORTH PERTH – A Palmerston man is dead following a two-vehicle collision here on Monday. Perth County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the crash on Line 91, west of Perth Road 140, on Aug. 15 at around 11:45am.
