Arsonist sought

GUELPH – City police and firefighters are investigating incidents of arson in the Grange Road area.

City Police Sergeant Douglas Pflug reported on July 26 that three separate fires had occurred there over the previous eight days:

– on July 20 a camper was discovered on fire at a residence on Grange Road;

– on July 23 two houses on Grange Road were severely damaged by fire; and

– on July 26 a garage of a residence on Trailbrook Lane was found to have a fire inside.

Pflug said the investigation into the fires had revealed the cause to be arson, and investigators are concentrating efforts on determining who is responsible for those criminal acts.

Investigators were also urging Guelph residents to be vigilant in reporting any suspicious behavior.
