Annual antique and classic car show at the Museum

On Aug. 24, the Wellington County Museum and Archives is hosting its 39th annual antique and classic car show.

Last year’s show filled the front lawn of the Museum and made for a spectacular site.

Cars, trucks and vintage motorbikes are invited to start  gathering at 12pm. Awards will be given to the car with the best interior, best paint job and best in show as voted by the visitors.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, there will be an award for the fan favourite Ford Mustang.

The Fergus Brass Band will be on site to entertain visitors, and be joined this year by a visit from Elvis himself at 2pm.

Visitors can wander the site and enjoy antique cars, other vintage vehicles and the sounds of music from the 50s and the 60s. Hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks will be available from the M&M charity barbecue, with proceeds going to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

Don’t forget to bring your own lawn chair and join us for an entertaining afternoon.

Admission is $5 per person or $12.50 per family. The Museum is located on Wellington Rd. #18 between Fergus and Elora. For further information call 519-846-0916 x 5221.
