OFFICER, Douglas Albert. Passed away suddenly at his home, Mount Forest on Thursday, November 17th, 2016 in his 64th year. Beloved companion of Lynn Bolen of Mount Forest. Loving father of Joel Officer and wife Natalie of Mount Forest, Jody Hunt and husband Cameron of Waterloo, Step-father of Stefanie Stroeder and husband Dustin of Walkerton, Shannon Bolen of Fergus and Blake Bolen and wife Holly of Fergus. Cherished grandfather of Harper, Vayda, Korben, Cole, Mason, Halle, Logan, Isla and Zac. Dear brother of Helen Rice of Guelph, Marion Marsland and husband Jim of Fergus, Les Officer and wife Barb of Mount Forest, Lynda Scott of Sioux Lookout, Brenda Officer of Mount Forest, Gwen Southwell and Trevor Adams of Collingwood. Predeceased by his parents Ruby and Robert Officer, son Jason Officer, sister Lillian Officer, brothers-in-law Leo Rice and Peter Scott. Fondly remembered by Sharon Officer of Elmira (mother of Joel and Jody) and by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Friends called at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Sunday, November 20th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A celebration of Doug’s life was held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment at the Mount Forest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
