It looks like there may not be a quick and easy solution regarding minors at licenced public events in Wellington North.
Recreation committee chairman Bob Mason noted the only recommendation from a recent committee meeting was regarding allowing minor to attend licenced events.
The township’s recreation advisory committee recommended banning minors at licenced stag and does, video parties, and special events.
However, they would be allowed at all licenced non-public events with guardians or parents, such as weddings, anniversaries, retirements, birthdays and anniversaries.
In addition, the motion from the recreation committee recommended wrist bands be used at all open public licenced events as part of the township’s alcohol policy.
Despite the recommendation made by the recreation committee, the resolution had no mover or seconder at council and therefore was lost.
