100th Birthday party

Caressant Care Fergus resident Marion Cameron celebrated her 100th birthday on Dec. 21. Born in Toronto in 1918, Cameron was a school teacher and librarian in Fergus. When she retired, she spent years travelling Europe before returning to Centre Wellington. “I think, the fact that I stayed single; I avoided a lot of troubles and worries and things that age you,” said Cameron when asked about the secret to a long life. “I am thankful for that – I am not boasting about it,” she added with a laugh.  Photo by Aryn Strickland
