$10,000 to Junior Achievement

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced a Powering Communities grant of $10,000 to Junior Achievement Guelph-Wellington last week.

Funds will support the business and money-management programs offered to students in grades 3 to 12.

The company’s grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.

Ramona Ostrander, executive director of the local Junior Achievement, said, “As the Guelph and area business communities continue to unite with [us] in impacting youth success, we welcome this show of confidence and support from Eaton Corporation.”

Junior Achievement offers programs to learn about business practices. There is no charge to the schools or students for the programs. Instruction materials are purchased with the funds contributed by businesses, service organizations and citizens.

Canada currently ranks eighth among the top 10 member nations of Junior Achievement worldwide, reaching 250,000 youth with their diverse programs.

Eaton’s facility in Guelph, part of the company’s Hydraulics Business, employs approximately 55 people who manufacture thermoplastic hose products for the industrial, agricultural, food and beverage, marine and recreational markets.
