4-H: Outdoors Club learns to geocache

MIMOSA - The third meeting of the Mimosa 4-H Outdoor Club was held on June 7 where club members, leaders and parents met at the Starkey Hill Conservation Area in Puslinch.

Pranksters at Erin District High School changed the name to Erin “Strict” High School and mounted a Pan Am horse usually on display in McMillan Park on the school roof. Principal Stephen Gayfer apologized to the Town of Erin on twitter saying, “Class of 2017 has some explaining to do... the horse will be returned.”

Transition Erin hosted a booth about soil health at Waterstock on June 11 in Erin. Soil is the workhorse that filters rain and stormwater. Healthy soil nourishes farmers’ crops and purifies the water feeding underground aquifers, as well as the surface water in lakes, rivers and wetlands.
