Willie Nelsons tour bus hits the open market on the road to auction

TORONTO

For many travelling entertainers, the venerable tour bus serves as home, and main transportation for cast and crew.

A veteran of the road with literally millions of miles behind him is the legendary singer and songwriter Willie Nelson.

Renowned in popular music culture for its rolling party atmosphere, Nelson’s tour bus was recently voted one of the top ten most famous buses in history by Time Magazine.

In 1986, Nelson took delivery of a new Texas-built Eagle Model 10 motor coach, outfitted by conversion specialists Florida Coach.

He had it personalized with hand-painted murals by the artist “Rainmaker”. This particular vehicle was used extensively by Nelson and his band for several years and is now being offered for sale for the first time at the Classic Car Auction of Toronto held Oct. 21 to 23 at Mississauga’s International Centre.

Nelson’s original custom coach has been refurbished and is equipped with beds for six, twin lounge areas, a modern bathroom and separate audio visual systems for each traveler.

Powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V-92TA turbo-charged engine and automatic transmission, this luxury coach carries 330 cubic feet of luggage underneath along with 130 gallons of fuel and an on-board four cylinder power generator.

Classic Car Auction of Toronto Collector Car Productions is a privately held Canadian-based auction house specializing in acquisitions, sales and appraisals of quality collector cars in North America. The company’s bi-annual Classic Car Auction of Toronto is the largest in Canada.

Hosted by industry veteran Dan Spendick’s Collector Car Productions, the weekend-long event features many rare and historic pre- and post-war classics along with automotive memorabilia and services. A bidder’s card and free parking is included with admission.

The Willie Nelson tour bus is expected to cross the auction block on Oct. 22. For more information on Nelson’s tour bus at auction contact Terry Lobzun at 519-324-5125 or tlobzun@mdirect.net.
