Chili cook-off coming

On Feb. 21, the Minto Farmers’ Market Association will host its first annual chili cook-off and annual general meeting.

The events will take place at the Clifford community hall with the cook-off running from 4pm to 7pm and the annual general meeting starting at 7pm. Anyone interested in joining the Minto Farmers’ Market board is invited to attend the meeting.

The meal is $10 for adults: ($7 -with purchase of a 2011 membership), and children 12 and under pay $5 

To enter the chili cook-off, make a five quart crock pot of chili using local ingredients (if possible).

Organizers encourage contestants to source their ingredients from Minto Farmers’ Market vendors.

The registration deadline is Feb. 18. Prizes are: $100 for  first, $75 for second, $50 for third and $50 for people’s choice.
