Centre Wellington chamber hosts town hall meeting

FERGUS

The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Business Town Hall meeting on Oct. 4 at 7pm at the Fergus Grand Theatre.

As businesses start to look forward to business planning for the next fiscal year, the chamber wanted a way for businesses to get the facts about projects that will impact their business.

With this in mind, the Wellington County Business Town Hall meeting will feature presentations from:

Gary Cousins – director of planning and development and Janice Hindley, administrator of Wellington Place to speak to changes in the county’s official plan and the plans for Wellington Place;

Gord Ough – county engineer will speak to construction projects – particularly the plans and timeline for the Tower and Scotland bridges in Fergus;

Jana Reichert – Economic Development Officer will speak to the County’s Economic Development plan.

Murray McCabe  Chief Librarian will  speak to the Fergus Library redevelopment project.

There will be a time after the presentations for audience members to ask questions. The chamber’s business and government affairs committee has met with municipal department heads, county officials, MPs and MPPs and is currently focussing on issues that have a direct impact on businesses at a local level.

Helping businesses with required resources to run their business is what the chamber of commerce works hard to provide for local businesses.

Whether that be in the form of member benefits, educational sessions, networking opportunities, the goal is to provide the needed information for businesses to make informed decisions.

Admission to the Oct. 4 event is free for anyone interested in attending. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Roberta at the chamber of commerce office 519-843-5140.
