Elora team wins video competition

ELORA

A video by a team from Elora has won $1,500 in a competition to create a music-video.

Andrew Musselman, a video producer and Dave Darash, singer and songwriter,  both of Central Pentecostal Church in Elora, were chosen as runner-up in the  Friends and Heroes competition to create a new version of their song/video What about Love? (also known as Portia’s Song).

Friends and Heroes are the makers of the award-winning animated DVD Bible story adventure series. The competition was announced this summer.  Following the song’s theme, Musselman and Darash worked to create a video that would speak to a broad audience.

The video tells the story of a wealthy young man who decides to anonymously befriend and help a little girl and her family after he sees her cold and lonely.

“It’s a simple story about loving your neighbor as yourself,” said Andrew Musselman, “and doing it without expecting anything in return.”

The video has attracted over 30,000 views on YouTube.

“We wanted fans of Friends and Heroes to have the chance to do something creative, capturing the wonderful message in the song, and making something special that relates to them,” said Alison Dorricott, Executive Producer of Friends and Heroes.
