Board announces changes at area schools

GUELPH

The Upper Grand District School Board has announced several elementary principal and vice-principal transfers and appointments effective Jan. 1.

Principal appointment:  

- Mike McNamara, currently vice-principal, Willow Road Public School to acting principal at Mitchell Woods PS.

Vice-principal transfers and appointments are:

- Kathy Gosling-Spears, currently vice-principal, temporary at Taylor Evans PS is transferred to vice-principal, temporary at Willow Road PS

- Nancy Mundle, currently vice-principal, Westminster Woods PS transferred to vice-principal, Arthur PS;

- Kathy Soule, currently vice-principal (on leave) at Arthur PS to vice-principal (on leave) is transferred to vice-principal (on leave) at Westminster Woods PS;

- Chad Guyitt, currently a teacher at Aberfoyle PS, is appointed vice-principal, temporary at Westminster Woods PS.

- The acting designation is removed from Saskia Marquis, who is now principal at Salem PS; and

- the temporary designation is changed to acting vice-principal for Tracey Kutchma, currently at Palmerston PS;

Principals and vice-principals who are in acting roles are replacing a principal or vice-principal who is on leave.

Vice-principals who are in temporary roles are still members of the teachers’ bargaining unit and have the right to return to teaching.
