Talbot is named a superintendent
GUELPH Bonnie Talbot, a former Rockwood and Elora Public School principal with 22 years of experience in the Upper Grand District School Board and old Dufferin County Board of Education, has been appointed superintendent of schools effective Feb. 1. She replaces Rosemary Fyfe, who retires on Jan. 31. As the superintendent for the elementary schools in East Wellington and Dufferin County Talbot will oversee the operation of 18 schools with 26 principals and vice-principals, and assume numerous portfolio responsibilities including accessibility, healthy schools and the new teacher induction Program. Currently the board’s principal of program, she supervises the curriculum department and special education staff, coordinates professional development for junior Kindergarten to grade 12, and chairs the assessment and evaluation committee and the special education review committee. Talbot has a bachelor of Education with a major in special education and a masters in education.
