New facility still busy due to weather

MARDEN - Despite a plan to scale back hours at the Royal Distributing Athletic Performance Centre, the facility remains busy in the evening, mostly due to the wet weather in recent weeks.

Facility coordinator Dave Nichol said Guelph-Eramosa officials had planned to scale back hours to 8am to 4:30pm at the start of May, but as of Monday, the indoor sports field and track had closed early just once.

Nichol noted drier weather likely means more early closures, but he stressed the facility will remain open in the evening if it receives a rental request.
