Big Night Out fundraising gala on Feb. 3

ARISS - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington is hosting the Big Night Out fundraising Gala coming up on Feb. 3 at Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club.

Presenting sponsors Xanadu Fine Cabinetry and Interiors, is supporting not only the event but the work that Big Brothers Big Sisters does with local youth.

“(Xanadu is) invested in the future and shares the excitement of improving a child’s possibility to realize their full potential,” states a press release issued by Kristen Drexler, executive director BBBS of Centre Wellington.

Last year the event raised just over $40,000 for mentoring programs that support youth in Centre Wellington, allowing BBBS to increase the number of children served in 2017 and the goal is to reach even more in 2018.

“It certainly does take a village to raise a child and it takes our community to help us do the work we do. Big Night Out allows us to reflect on where we have come from and how we got here today,” said Drexler.

The fundraiser gala offers live and silent auctions and a grand prize of WestJet tickets. It will also honour the recipient of the Jane Cooper Award for an Outstanding Little and the 2018 Big Star Award for a volunteer who has made a significant impact on the organization.

Limited tickets are still available by calling 519-787-0106 ext. 221. For more information visit centrewellington.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca/event/big-night-out.
