Mount Forest parade

It was a Canadian Christmas when the Mount Forest Santa Claus Parade wound its way down the town’s Main Street the evening of Dec. 1. Huge crowds watched the dazzling array of lighted floats, bands and horseback riders. LEFT: Those riding on the Yardistry float wave to the crowds lining in the street. Canadian flags were prominent on many of the floats for Canada’s 150th anniversary year. RIGHT: The miniature TD Smith truck is always a hit as it winds its way along the parade route. The highlight, of course, was Santa Claus himself who, after the parade, met with youngsters for gift giving, hot chocolate and cookies at St. Mary’s Church. The annual event is sponsored by the Mount Forest Lions Club.  Photos by Lynne Turner
