Nightime excitement in Fergus

LEFT: A large crowd enjoyed a festive night on Dec. 1 at the tree lighting ceremony to officially kick off the the Christmas shopping season in downtown Fergus. The Fergus BIA arranged free apple cider in Templin Gardens where the large Yew tree was lit by Centre Wellington Mayor Kelly Linton and BIA chair Kim Jefferson who flipped the switch for the lighting. There was Christmas music on St. Andrew Street as well as more free drinks and gifts. The Centre Wellington Singers were on hand in the garden singing familiar Christmas carols. RIGHT: Three of Santa’s elves made it to Templin Gardens, from left: Aisley, mom Tanya and Charley Graham.                      Photos by Bill Longshaw
