Speeders of the Week

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Aug. 11 at about 12:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, near Ponsonby. Police say the officer observed a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 132km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Billie Joe Comeau, 36, of Cambridge, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and driving without a licence. He is to appear in Guelph court on Sept. 20.

GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Aug. 16 at about 6pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 7, west of the City of Guelph. Police say the officer observed a 2009 Subaru Impreza that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 140km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Graeme John Dadson, 22, of Kitchener, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on Oct. 4.

ERIN - On Aug. 21 at about 6:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Trafalgar Road North near Ballinafad. Police say the officer observed a 2006 Mazda 6 that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 136km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Brandon Paul Holmes, 18, of Ballinafad, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on Oct. 4.

MAPLETON - On Aug. 30 at about 7am, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7 near Rothsay. Police say the officer observed a 2004 Dodge pickup that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 136km/h in an 80km/h zone.

John Henry DeKlein, 51 of Puslinch was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on Nov. 1.

GUELPH - On Aug. 30 at about 9pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near College Avenue here. Police say the officer observed a 2012 Acura TL that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 138km/h in a 70km/h zone.

Dustin James Siminoski, 20, of Guelph, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on Nov. 1.
