Clifford Homecoming 2017 volunteers gathered for a meeting on March 14 at Knox United Church in Clifford.

Gary Napper shared his ‘Cargill Share the Memories 2014’ experiences regarding name tags, signage, media, promotions, written quotes, pledges, free passes, recognition, and sponsorship.

Each committee chair at the Cargill event wore a specially designed T-shirt making them easy to spot in a crowd.

Glenn Hall reported he has a website ready to go for the event www.Clifford2017.ca  Updates, agendas, photos, teasers, contests, and events will be posted as soon as they are approved.

A logo contest will be first on the screen in hopes of boosting excitement for the August 4 to 7 weekend.

A Face book page will also be set up. Each club in the area will receive a letter alerting them to the event.

Minto Mayor George Bridge feels there are opportunities for promoting the event at Norwell’s 75th anniversary party and the 2016 International Plowing Match, which will be held near Harriston.

The parade route is confirmed and potential marching bands and attractions have been contacted for possible participation. Contests for floats will be announced.

Bill Smith stted he wants this event to be first class and is looking for interested volunteers.

There are numerous committees that still need to be formed. Anyone interested in assisting should call Bill Smith at 519-327-8091.

The next meeting is scheduled for 9am on April 11 at Knox United Church in Clifford.
