Committee busy planning CWDHS Class of 79 reunion

by Chris Daponte

FERGUS - Graduates and classmates from Centre Wellington District High School’s class of 1979 are invited to a reunion this weekend in Elora.

The 32-year reunion will be held at the Metcalfe Inn on Oct. 22 from 5pm until closing time.

“It has been really exciting talking to previous classmates and we have some travelling a distance to be a part of our evening,” said planning committee member Sandi Wittich Nikolasevic.

She added organizers have been able to track down about 160 of approximately 180 or so classmates and close to 100  have confirmed they will attend the reunion.

“I have been getting two or three new responses every day,” said Wittich Nikolasevic. “I guess that after 32 years everyone is eager to see the “kids” they grew up with.”

She stressed graduating is not a requirement for the event.

“We are just trying to get the people that went to school together for the majority of our school years, whether they graduated or not,” she said.

Anyone interested in attending the event should RSVP to Wittich Nikolasevic at 519-846-2928.
